Andrew Yates represents railroads,federal and state chartered banks, loan servicers and other transportation and financial services industry clients in civil litigation and regulatory enforcement matters. He also handles  a wide variety of other business disputes. Andrew has successfully handled several trials and arbitrations.  

Railroad Litigation Experience

Andrew represents several of the nation’s largest freight and passenger railroads, including BNSF Railway Company, Union Pacific Company, and Amtrak. He has defended these and other rail companies in Federal Employers’ Liability Act, Federal Railroad Safety Act, contract, and real estate matters in state and federal court and before federal administrative tribunals.  Andrew is a member of the National Association of Railroad Trial Counsel and the Association of Transportation Law Professionals.

Financial Institutions Litigation Experience

Andrew’s practice also includes representation of banks, loan servicers, mortgage companies and other financial institutions in a wide variety of court and administrative proceedings, such as regulatory investigations and enforcement actions. He defends class actions and individual claims under federal statutes such as the Truth in Lending Act, Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, and Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, as well as state statutes and common law causes of action. 

Other Civil Litigation Experience

Andrew has also represented clients in a wide variety of other civil litigation matters, including  in the life insurance, manufacturing, maritime, real estate, and health care industries as well as business disputes between partnerships, closely held businesses and individuals. These matters range from pre-dispute negotiations, mediation, arbitration and trial in state and federal courts.
