Fiduciary Litigation and Trusts & Estates Teams Receive High Rankings in Chambers High Net Worth 2018

Awards & Honors

Lane Powell’s Fiduciary Litigation and Trusts & Estates Teams, as well as Sarah MacLeod, Gail Mautner, Mary Lee Moseley, Heidi Orr and Charles W. Riley, Jr., were ranked in Chambers High Net Worth 2018 in the area of Private Wealth Law for Washington.

Described as a “market leader,” the teams were recognized for their work advising high net worth clients in estate and tax planning, charitable trusts, business succession and trust administration. The teams received strong praise from many of the leading investment management firms, financial institutions and fiduciaries in the region.

During the research process, Chambers received comments regarding the practice, including the following:

  • "The quality of work is top-notch; we know the people there will do a good job. The team is very skilled and we feel comfortable with them because of their exceptional culture."

  • "They are one of the first teams I think of in this area; they are well respected and have great bench depth. They have lots of shrewd lawyers yet they are also very collaborative. The attorneys work together very well."

  • "They are very trustworthy and will always do the right thing for the client in all cases. They do such a great job they make us look good. They were very good in ensuring the estate was administered properly; they did a really great job of protecting the client and acting in their best interests."

Additionally, sources commented on MacLeod, stating that “her strength stems from her ability to truly relate to people and get clients to formulate and articulate their goals clearly so that they can develop that into a meaningful estate plan.” Mautner was described as “a tenacious litigator who really advocates strongly for her clients' positions.” Moseley was distinguished as “very analytical and can really get to the root of any estate planning problem.” Orr was acknowledged for being able to “dig down to get to the root of an issue in order to find the most effective solutions,” and Riley was recognized for being “hugely admired by all Seattle-based planners and is a font of knowledge and wisdom."
