It is with great pride and support that Lane Powell announces that Shareholder Robin Dale has been selected as President/CEO of the Washington Health Care Association (“WHCA”), effective January 1, 2014. Dale brings twenty years of legal and regulatory experience representing the long term health care and seniors housing industries to WHCA. In his new position with WHCA, Dale will promote and extend WHCA’s mission of assisting its members in providing high quality care and service to its residents. During his time with Lane Powell, Dale played an invaluable role in serving as general counsel to WHCA and in establishing the Firm’s Long Term Care and Seniors Housing Client Service Team. Lane Powell looks forward to continuing its long-time support of WHCA and working with Robin in his new position.

WHCA accomplishes its mission by providing opportunities for education, professional growth and peer support; representing members before funding and regulatory agencies; gaining understanding and support from the state legislature and congress; and by informing the general public about issues affecting long term care.

Lane Powell is also pleased to announce that Assistant Attorney General Jonathon Bashford joined the Firm’s Long Term Care and Seniors Housing Client Service Team on December 16. He will be working with Shareholder Carin Marney to support the Firm’s long term care regulatory practice. Bashford attended Harvard Law School before working in the Social and Health Services Division of the Washington Attorney General’s Office, where he represented regulators on the other side of the issues that Lane Powell’s clients routinely face. He brings with him extensive experience in Medicaid state plan and waiver programs, state rulemaking, regulatory enforcement, licensing, compliance, and complex litigation. Bashford will be a valuable member of the Lane Powell team.

Lane Powell is the only large law firm in the Pacific Northwest with an entire practice group devoted exclusively to the needs of the long term care and seniors housing market. The Firm also represents continuing care retirement communities, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living operators, independent housing operators, and home health and hospice providers.
