EFSEC Recommends Denying Approval of Sumas Energy 2 Electrical Generation Facility
Washington State’s Energy Facility Site Evaluation Council (“EFSEC”) is recommending that Governor Locke deny Sumas Energy2 Inc.’s application to build a natural gas-fired combined-cycle 660-megawatt electric generation facility in Sumas, Washington. EFSEC is charged with reviewing proposals for major non-hydro energy projects in Washington State on the Governor’s behalf, including any electrical generation facilities larger than 250-megawatts.
