Claman Becomes Chairman of Anchorage Assembly
Lane Powell attorney Matthew Claman’s new role as chairman of the Anchorage Assembly was reported by the Anchorage Daily News on April 12, 2008. The 11-member Assembly writes local laws and approves the city spending plan. As Chairman, Claman will run meetings and set the Assembly’s agenda.
If the current mayor runs for the U.S. Senate and wins, as Chairman, Claman would fill in as mayor for a few months.
