She prioritizes a sensible and practical approach to suit not only a client’s legal risks but also the business needs at the various stages of a company’s lifecycle. Kari also has extensive experience with capital-raising transactions, particularly VC-backed financings and mergers and acquisitions.
In addition, Kari has focused a meaningful piece of her practice on counseling nonprofit organizations and social enterprises (what she refers to as not-for-profit entrepreneurs) on governance, tax-exemption and compliance, and strategic transactions, with particular attention on the intersection of mission-driven and for-profit activities.
Before attending law school, Kari spent several years at a think tank in Washington, D.C. analyzing and advocating federal clean energy and climate change policies as well as facilitating policy-oriented dialogue among clean energy visionaries and industry leaders.
