Bruce C. Hamlin
Of Counsel
Portland

With substantial experience in the areas of legal ethics and professional responsibility, Bruce Hamlin serves as Associate General Counsel to the firm. He has extensive trial experience, having tried dozens of cases covering a wide variety of issues and products, and provides risk management advice to manufacturers and other businesses.

Specialties: Oregon does not explicitly recognize specialties in the practice of law, and Bruce does not hold himself out as a specialist. His practice is concentrated on commercial litigation and products liability defense. His experience defending products involves tires, recreational vehicles, chemicals, drugs, medical devices, lawnmowers, power tools, and aerial equipment, among others. In addition to defending products litigation, Bruce has provided risk management advice to manufacturers and other businesses

Over the years, Bruce has represented national, regional, and local clients in many types of litigation. He's tried dozens of cases involving the defense of products, as well as real estate, commercial transactions, benefit plans, and insurance; he served as co-lead class counsel in a claim by policyholders of the State's worker's compensation carrier, and recovered over $200 million for those businesses; he defended construction product defect litigation for a manufacturer throughout the nation until a nationwide and a single state class action resolved those claims.

Bruce has served as national and regional counsel.
