Lane Powell is proud to announce that it is participating in the Mansfield Rule 6.0 Certification Program, which aims to diversify leadership at law firms by broadening the pool of candidates considered for such opportunities.
Having achieved Mansfield Rule 4.0 Certification Plus status in the first year of its participation in 2021, and presently awaiting the final results of Mansfield Rule 5.0, Lane Powell recognizes the importance of maintaining its commitment to this program as a tangible means of making the legal profession more diverse and inclusive.
Named after the first woman admitted to the practice of law in the U.S., Arabella Mansfield, the Mansfield Rule 6.0 measures whether law firms have affirmatively considered at least 30 percent historically underrepresented lawyers from four groups: women, attorneys of color, LGBTQ+ lawyers, and lawyers with disabilities for leadership and governance roles, equity partner promotions, formal client pitch opportunities, senior lateral positions, and other critical talent pipeline activities.
Firms are eligible for certification annually if they meet the Rule’s requirements and evaluations, as well as certification plus status for those who achieve diversity targets in their leadership. Further details of the Mansfield Rule 6.0 program can be found here.
