Angela Foster has joined Lane Powell as an Associate on the Litigation Team.
Foster is a trial attorney with experience litigating financial, business, and tax matters.
Prior to joining Lane Powell, Foster served as a trial attorney at the Department of Justice Tax Division in Washington D.C., where she litigated a wide range of issues, including foreign bank account reporting penalties, fraudulent transfers, trust fund recovery penalties, and tax refunds.
Through her prior experience handling cases from initial pleading through trial, Foster has developed the litigation and negotiation skills to successfully advocate for businesses and individuals in a wide range of commercial disputes.
Foster listens carefully to clients’ priorities and business challenges and takes an objective approach to win the best possible outcome for her clients in complex business disputes. She also represents businesses and individuals in tax controversies before the IRS, U.S. Tax Court, and or district court as well as their state analogues.
While earning her Master of Law in Taxation, Foster served as a program coordinator for the Vita Rural Alaska Tax Assistance Program, leading a team of students to rural Alaskan Native villages to serve as income tax preparers.
Foster received her J.D. and LL.M in Taxation from the University of Washington School of Law and her B.A., cum laude, in English Writing from Pacific Lutheran University.
