Miranda L. Strong has joined Lane Powell as Counsel to the Firm on the Commercial Litigation, Labor & Employment, and Investigation, Compliance and White Collar Teams.
Strong is a third-generation Alaskan and a driven litigator, employment, and compliance attorney whose success stems from an enthusiasm for policy, compliance and crafting strategic communications for innovative solutions.
Prior to entering private practice, Strong served as the Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer and Associate General Counsel for the Bering Straits Native Corporation, where she handled administration employment hearings; designed and directed Corporate Compliance, Records and Information Management, and Export Compliance Programs; and advised on Arctic, Alaska Native, corporate and energy public policy. She has substantial experience conducting and leading investigations, risk-assessments and trainings, including those on cybersecurity, harassment prevention, and response, ethics, compliance and government contracting.
Strong was also a former Assistant Attorney General as well as a trial and appellate litigator at the State of Alaska Department of Law, where she served as a tribal liaison and special assistant advising the executive branch on emerging Alaska Native legal and policy matters. She also consulted on e-discovery, information governance and public-record matters.
Strong received her J.D. from the University of Washington Law School, her M.P.A. in Public Administration from the University of Alaska Southeast, and her B.A. in Philosophy (Pre-law) from the University of Alaska Anchorage.
