NAPE Foundation to Graduate First Class of Students in 2016

Firm Announcement

Lane Powell is pleased to announce that the Naa Amerley Palm Education (NAPE) Foundation will graduate its first class of students this year, awarding 25 students with two-year associate’s degrees from its Palm Institute for Strategic Studies. The institute is also in the process of applying to become a fully accredited university, which will allow it to offer four-year bachelor’s degrees.

The NAPE Foundation was founded with the assistance of Lane Powell in 2006 and is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that helps provide Ghanaians with scholarships to attend the Palm Institute and to generally support the institute itself. The NAPE Foundation raises money for current high school and university students and supports those seeking two-year degree programs in Business Administration, Computerized Accounting and Banking Technology, and Accounting by providing scholarships to deserving students attending the Palm Institute. Several of  the scholarships awarded were named for Lane Powell and Lee Nusich, Counsel to the Firm in the Portland office and Chairman of the Board of the NAPE Foundation, as a tribute to both Lee’s and the Firm’s continued support, which has been instrumental in obtaining funding for the scholarships and graduating the institute’s first class of students. Annie Robertson also serves as a member of NAPE’s Board of Directors. The photo below depicts one of the Palm Institute’s lecture sessions in the Lee Nusich Lecture Hall.
