Forde Joins Lane Powell’s Labor and Employment Practice Group

Elijah Forde has joined Lane Powell as an Associate in the Firm’s Labor and Employment Practice Group.

Prior to joining Lane Powell, Forde worked as an Assistant Attorney General in the Washington State Attorney General Office, where he represented the Department of Labor and Industries in worker’s compensation and building trades disputes at the Board of Industrial Insurance Appeals, the Office of Administrative Hearings and in Superior Court.  Forde’s past experience includes working as a law clerk for the District of Columbia Public Defender’s Service, representing incarcerated youth in disciplinary hearings, and as a research assistant for Howard University of Law, researching the correlation between prison labor and recidivism rates.

As an active member of the community, Forde serves on the Governor’s Affirmative Action Policy Committee, Attorneys Assisting Citizen Soldiers and Families, and as Vice President of the Loren Miller Bar Association, where he coordinates the Association’s involvement in legal and political matters affecting the African American community.

Forde earned his J.D. from Howard University of Law.
