Battles Joins Lane Powell’s Labor and Employment Group

Robert A. Battles has joined Lane Powell as Counsel to the Firm in the Labor and Employment Group, where he will focus his practice on regulatory and complex litigation matters including Washington Industrial Safety and Health Act (WISHA) and industrial insurance defense.

Battles comes to Lane Powell from Goodstein Law Group PLLC in Tacoma, Wash., where he represented both individuals and business clients in the litigation of contractual, regulatory and real property matters, including WISHA cases. His prior experience also includes a position with the Office of the Attorney General, where he served as Assistant Attorney General in the Labor & Industries and Social & Health Services Divisions in Lacey and Tacoma for ten years. While there, he worked in a variety of roles including: litigation of complex industrial insurance and WISHA cases, supervision of all litigation and client advice to the Department of Labor & Industries related to the Building Trades Program and contributor of client advice to quasi-judicial boards/tribunals.

Battles received both his B.A. and J.D., cum laude, from Gonzaga University.
