Lane Powell Shareholder Barry Mesher has joined the Honorable Robert J. Bryan American Inn of Court as a “Master of the Bench,” a designation that is the highest category of Inn membership. Membership is by invitation only. The American Inn of Court, America’s oldest and largest legal mentoring organization, is rooted in the tradition of the Inns of Court in England. The Honorable Robert J. Bryan American Inn of Court was the 25th American Inn of Court to receive a charter, under the name “Puget Sound American Inn of Court.” The name was officially changed to the Honorable Robert J. Bryan American Inn of Court to honor its first President, U.S. District Court Judge Robert J. Bryan, on December 13, 2004.

The goal of the American Inns of Court is to raise the standard of the legal profession. Monthly meetings of the Honorable Robert J. Bryan American Inn of Court provide a collegial atmosphere that encourages networking between all members, mentoring and skills development, and the exchange of concepts, ideas and techniques. Outside the courtroom and formal training, seasoned professionals, or Masters, can share their wisdom and insight with less experienced practitioners, individually or in small groups. Focused on the development of skills, Inn programs provide creative, practical, interactive instruction in all areas of legal practice. By participating in these programs, members gain the double benefits of teaching as well as learning.
