Jamieson Quoted on Piracy in The National Law Journal

Lane Powell Shareholder Brewster Jamieson was quoted in the article “The Biggest Haul by Pirates Since Sir Francis Drake’s Day?” published in the online edition of The National Law Journal on November 21. The Sirius Star, an oil tanker owned by Saudi Arabia, was laden with over two million barrels of crude oil worth more than $100 million when it was seized by Somali pirates in the Indian Ocean, roughly 450 nautical miles off the coast of Kenya on November 15. The pirates have issued a ransom in exchange for the release of the tanker and its 25 crewmembers. Jamieson comments that it may possibly be the most valuable and least well-protected ship ever seized by pirates.
