Lane Powell Supports Lincoln High School’s Constitution Team
After more than a year of preparation, Lincoln High School’s Constitution team recently won the national “We the People” competition held in Washington D.C. The contest has been held for 29 years and Lincoln has claimed the state championship 20 times and the national championship five times. No state has won more titles than Oregon. Darin Sands serves as a coach for the Lincoln High School team and the Firm frequently donates office space for them to practice. Students compete by demonstrating their knowledge of the Constitution through simulated congressional hearings. The final day of the competition was held in congressional hearing rooms on Capitol Hill. The Oregon “We the People” program is organized and supported by the Classroom Law Project (CLP), a nonprofit that is supported by donors in the legal community, including Lane Powell. Sands currently serves as a Board Member for CLP. To learn more about CLP, visit its website.
