Oregon Supreme Court Rules Measure 7 Unconstitutional

The Oregon Supreme Court held on October 4 that Ballot Measure 7, approved by the voters in 2000, was unconstitutional because it violated the separate-vote provision of Article XVII, Section 1, of the Oregon Constitution. Measure 7 would have required local governments that adopted or enforced certain land use regulations to compensate owners of property that lost value as a result. View full article (PDF).
