Lane Powell Recognized for Charitable Contribution at Dress for Success Oregon Empowerment Breakfast
Lane Powell Attorney Cozette Tran-Caffee accepted an award on behalf of the Firm at a Dress for Success Oregon (DFSO) Empowerment Breakfast on Tuesday, October 13. Tran-Caffee and fellow Lane Powell Attorney Whitney Button worked together in leading a fundraiser for the organization, which resulted in enough funds raised to cover the cost of an LPN license for one DFSO participant.
The annual fall fundraiser draws together business, civic and social leaders to focus on the struggles women in the community face when they are unemployed, underemployed or struggling to regain employment. At the event, clients spoke to the impact DFSO has on their lives as they gain employment, independence and self-worth.
DFSO is focused on helping low-income women, and has found that the most effective way to break the cycle of poverty is by helping women obtain and — most importantly maintain — employment and explore entrepreneurship opportunities. More than 3,000 low-income women in the community are benefitted by DFSO programs each year.
