Areas of Practice

Parna Mehrbani practices all aspects of intellectual property law, including trademark, copyright, right of publicity, trade secret, licensing, all manner of intellectual property contracting and litigation. She also practices general commercial litigation. Parna manages Lane Powell’s trademark registration and enforcement practice, including trademark portfolios for both small and large companies. She is the trademark attorney responsible for prosecution, clearance and licensing of client’s trademark portfolios. The Internet is another area of her expertise, where she works on domain name disputes, security and privacy concerns, contracts for e-commerce, and related online legal matters.

  • Newport Pacific Corporation v. Moe’s Southwest Grill, LLC, 2006 WL 2811905 (D. Or. 2006) Represented restaurant chain in successfully defending against trademark infringement claims
  • Meridian Transportation Resources, LLC v. Magic Carrier Resources LLC, 518 F. Supp. 2d 1255 (D. Or. 2007) Represented private transportation and tourism company in preliminary injunction suit involving trademark and trade dress infringement
  • Successfully defended designer, manufacturer, and retailer of maternity- and infant-related products in suit involving alleged trademark infringement
  • Regularly represents retailers in Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy arbitration proceedings against cybersquatters, resulting in ownership and transfer of domain names
  • Represented footwear vendor and major retailer in suit involving alleged trademark infringement
  • Represented defendant retailer in preliminary injunction suit involving labeling and alleged trademark infringement and assisted in settlement of matter before high season for product sales
  • Successfully obtained a jury verdict and court decision in favor of plaintiff on all claims for relief in a trust dispute and elder abuse trial
  • Represented local food and beverage company in suit involving alleged trademark infringement and breach of licensing contract
  • Second chair in trial of workplace death case
