Areas of Practice

Shawn Lindsay is a skilled intellectual property, e-commerce and business lawyer. He acts as general counsel to international software consortia negotiating, drafting, and overseeing enforcement of domestic and international software licenses and managing IP litigation. Shawn’s experience includes representing clients with a wide variety of intellectual property needs, including representation in the following areas: software licensing, Internet, domain names, establishing IP rights, acquiring and transferring IP rights, and preserving IP rights.

As a member of the Firm’s Emerging Company and Venture Investment group, Shawn works with start-up ventures and mature companies in corporate formation/structuring, securing intellectual property rights and financing. On a pro bono basis, Shawn serves as general counsel to Special Olympics Oregon.

Shawn is a member of the Oregon State House of Representatives. Prior to joining the Firm, he served as a law clerk extern to Judge Sam A. Crow, at the United States District Court for the District of Kansas.

Shawn has lived in Spain, speaks Spanish fluently, and is conversational in Catalán.
