Areas of Practice
Bruce Leaverton is the chair of the Firm’s Bankruptcy and Creditors’ Rights Practice Group. His practice focuses on business finance and restructuring matters, representing borrowers, secured lenders, debtors, creditors’ committees, bankruptcy trustees, indentured trustees, and state and federal court receivers. He has considerable experience representing financial institutions and corporate clients in complex financial bankruptcies, restructurings, recapitalizations, intellectual property disputes, lender liability litigation, and mergers and acquisitions, both inside and outside of bankruptcy court. His representation of institutional lenders in distressed secured loan and workout matters is aided and informed by his considerable experience and understanding of the other side of the table, based on his representation of various corporate borrowers. His practice also includes a wide variety of litigation and administrative matters concerning financial and loan enforcement issues, including inter-creditor disputes and a variety of investigative and enforcement proceedings by government regulatory agencies.
