Representative Matters and Clients

  • Pavsidis v. Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish Counties (Washington State Court) – Defend employer in putative class action lawsuit alleging improper classification of employees as exempt from state law overtime pay requirements.
  • Moore et al. v. Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. and Klink v. Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. (District of Oregon) – Defend Wal-Mart in putative class action lawsuits alleging violation of Oregon termination pay statutes.
  • Nordstrom, Inc. – Assist Nordstrom’s Risk Management Department in evaluating and resolving varied business disputes.
  • Williams v. BOSE Corporation (Washington State Court) – Defend BOSE against former employee’s race discrimination and hostile work environment claims.
  • Olson et al. v. Tesoro Refining and Marketing Company (Western District of Washington) – Defend oil refinery in class action lawsuit involving claims for violation of Washington state wage and hour laws based on alleged failures to pay employees for time spent donning and doffing personal protective equipment and traveling within the refinery.
  • Thiebes v. Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. (District of Oregon) – Member of trial team defending Wal-Mart in FLSA collective action.
  • Kuhn v. Wells Fargo Bank (Oregon State Court) – Defended bank in class action lawsuit alleging violation of Oregon wage and hour laws.
  • McFarlin v. Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. (District of Alaska) – Defended Wal-Mart in class action lawsuit alleging violations of Alaska wage and hour laws.
  • Dvorak v. AMC Mortgage Services, Inc. (Eastern District of Washington) – Defended mortgage services company in borrower lawsuit alleging violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
  • Martin v. Stratex Networks, Inc. (Western District of Washington) – Defended wireless service provider in lawsuit alleging violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act and invasion of privacy.
  • Siedschlag v. Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. (Western District of Washington) – Obtained summary judgment in favor of Wal-Mart on former employee’s claims for violation of federal and state equal pay statutes and Washington Law Against Discrimination.
  • SAM’s Club – Defended SAM’s Club in six single plaintiff lawsuits filed in Alaska state and federal courts alleging improper classification of assistant managers as exempt from federal and state overtime pay requirements.
  • Premera Blue Cross – Defended health plan in federal and state class action lawsuits alleging improper payment to health care providers.
