McMonies Appointed to Advisory Board for Catlin Gabel’s Planning and Leadership Across City Environments Program
Walt McMonies has been appointed to the Advisory Board for Catlin Gabel’s Planning and Leadership Across City Environments (PLACE) Program. The PLACE program, which is run by the Catlin Gabel School in partnership with the greater Portland community, focuses on people’s relationship with their urban environment. High school students and recent graduates from Portland-area high schools work with sustainability experts, urban designers and other regional thought leaders on a month-long project, culminating in a presentation to city leaders and the public. McMonies was a part of the original advisory group for PLACE and helped to fund its first year of operation. He also attended and graduated from Catlin Gabel School and previously served on their Capital Campaign Committee and Alumni Board. To learn more about the PLACE program, visit its website.
