Lane Powell Supports Lincoln High School’s Debate Team
After more than a year of preparation, Lincoln High School’s constitution team recently won the national “We the People” competition held in Washington D.C., making them the first high school in the history of the competition to win the competition five times. Lane Powell Shareholder Darin Sands serves as a coach for Lincoln High School team. This is the third straight national championship for the state of Oregon. Students compete by demonstrating their knowledge of the constitution through simulated congressional hearings. The final day of the competition was held in congressional hearing rooms on Capitol Hill. The Oregon “We The People” program is organized and supported by the Classroom Law Project, a nonprofit that is supported by donors in the legal community, including Lane Powell. Lane Powell Shareholder Ken Davis has served as a board member for Classroom Law Project for more than 10 years. To learn more about Classroom Law Project, visit its website.
