TEDx is a subset of TED talks, created in the spirit of TED to support independent organizers who want to create a TED-like event in their own community.  TEDx now consists of a global set of conferences that works to promote ideas worth spreading in the intersecting fields of technology, education and design. In 2012 there were more than 2700 TEDx conferences held around the world, and TEDx Portland is among the top ten, due to its recognition, viewership and attendance.  To learn more about TED and TEDx, visit the TED website.
