Con-way Inc. Featured in Oregon Daily Journal of Commerce’s 2013 Newsmakers for Major Real Estate Transaction
Lane Powell client Con-way Inc. was featured in the Oregon Daily Journal of Commerce‘s February 22 issue in a special “2013 DJC Newsmakers” section, which highlights some of the most newsworthy stories from around the Portland business community. Over the last few months, Con-way has been featured in several local news outlets for a significant real estate transaction that will transform 18 acres in Northwest Portland into a mixed-use district with retail, office and housing. The district will be called “Slabtown” in recognition of the area’s rich legacy of lumber production and the blue-collar force behind it. Lane Powell Shareholder Jill Long was responsible for obtaining the land use approvals to allow the construction of a New Seasons grocery store in the area, which is currently comprised of mostly surface parking lots. Con-way expects the grocery store to be the anchor for the developing Slabtown Marketplace.
The article featured a photo of Long alongside Craig Boretz, the Vice President of corporate development for Con-way, and others who made this major Portland real estate development possible.
