Lane Powell Supports Classroom Law Project and National Center for State Courts
Lane Powell recently teamed with two other law firms to fund the costs of publishing 900 books, which were recently delivered to schools throughout Oregon by the Oregon Classroom Law Project. The books covered the topic of how the judicial system affects schools. The Oregon Classroom Law Project is Oregon’s leader in preparing youth to become active, engaged and informed participants in a democratic society by offering innovative programs that are relevant to the diverse needs of Oregon’s regions and communities. The project is part of a national program started by former U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor, and is currently supported by former Chief Justice Paul De Muniz and Justice David Brewer from the Oregon Supreme Court. Lane Powell Shareholder Bob Maloney led the Firm’s involvement in this project.
“These three law firms were instrumental in support of this program. We appreciate their dedication to the Classroom Law Project and to educating students in our community about the importance of the court system,” said Marilyn Cover, Executive Director of the Classroom Law Project.
