Legal Forum: Trademark, Copyright, and Design Patent Boot Camp (Portland)

Lane Powell attorneys Brenna Legaard and Jay Smith-Hill will co-present group breakout sessions at the Technology Association of Oregon’s “Legal Forum: Trademark, Copyright, and Design Patent Boot Camp” at the Oregon Zoo on February 14 from 7:30 a.m. to noon. The forum will discuss ways to use the three categories of intellectual property (“IP”) (trademark, copyright and design patent) synergistically to create a cohesive IP policy that will provide greater protection overall. Legaard will be presenting on design patents, and Smith-Hill will be presenting on copyrights. For each category of IP, there will be a breakout session to apply different forms of IP to a single hypothetical product in order to illustrate the strengths and limitations of each and demonstrate how to combine the three forms of IP to create a cohesive whole.
