Areas of Practice

Kristin Beneski focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation, including securities, antitrust, insurance, intellectual property, employment, contract, tort, and regulatory matters. She has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in a wide variety of cases in federal courts throughout the U.S. and in Washington at the trial and appellate levels, and has played a key role in several federal court trials. Kristin has experience with securities and antitrust class actions, shareholder derivative suits, SEC investigations, and disputes concerning professional liability, insurance coverage, contracts and business torts, the Lanham Act, the Washington Consumer Protection Act (CPA), the Uniform Trade Secrets Act (UTSA) and the Computer Spyware Act. She is also a member of Lane Powell’s team providing pro bono representation to clients on death row in Texas and Louisiana.

Kristin has experience with international legal matters ranging from Alien Tort Statute litigation to cross-border contractual disputes, and has worked on matters involving clients and opposing parties located in China, Japan, Korea, India, Germany, France, Norway and Australia. She is a member of the firm’s International Arbitration group and the ABA Section of International Law’s International Arbitration Committee. Through her internationally focused practice, Kristin has developed expertise in the areas of service of process, enforcement of foreign arbitral awards, and admissibility of foreign documents and other evidence in U.S. courts.

Prior to joining Lane Powell, Kristin worked as a Judicial Intern for the Honorable John C. Coughenour in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington and the Honorable Joseph E. Beshouri in the District of Columbia Superior Court.
