Greene Featured in Law360 for Joining Lane Powell’s Securities Litigation Practice Group
Lane Powell Shareholder Doug Greene was interviewed by Law360 for a June 25 article titled “Lane Powell Hires Securities Litigator From K&L Gates.”
Douglas W. Greene became co-chairman of the practice group at the end of May, joining Lane Powell’s Seattle office where he will defend public directors and officers in securities class actions, litigation over mergers and acquisitions, shareholder derivatives actions and investigations by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
“I moved to Lane Powell because it’s an excellent platform for my practice,” Greene said. “The securities litigation group is filled with highly successful litigators — folks who know how to litigate cases, start to finish. … The firm is well known for its efficiency and for its attention to cases and its thoroughness.” …
The firm has strong relationships with directors and officers insurers, an important factor for someone who spends much of his time representing directors and officers of public companies, he said. The firm’s propensity to produce federal judges also piqued Greene’s interest.
Since joining the firm, Greene said his assumptions about the firm have only been confirmed and that he remains pleased with his decision to make the switch.
“It’s been wonderful,” he said. “The people here are unbelievably welcoming. I feel like I’ve practiced here for much, much longer. I feel like I’ve been here for years.”
