Willamette University’s graduate level class on angel investing was recognized by Inc. Magazine as one of the 10 best new courses for 2011. Focused on teaching students all aspects of entrepreneurship, students are required to look at new business ventures from the standpoint of an angel investor. The Firm and Lane Powell Shareholder Scott Davidson, a member of the Firm’s Emerging Companies and Venture Investment Practice Group, collaborated with the university to form the angel investor fund associated with the class, as well as provided counsel on a number of issues related to angel investing. In addition, Davidson has presented to Willamette University classes on legal, business and due diligence issues faced by angel investors in start-up and early stage companies.
