NAPE Foundation Names Lee Nusich Scholarship Recipients
The Naa Amerley Palm Education (“NAPE”) Foundation has announced the first recipients of the Lee Nusich Scholarship on January 31, 2009. The Scholarship was named for Lee Nusich, Counsel to the Firm in Lane Powell’s Portland office and a member of NAPE’s Advisory Board, as a tribute to both his and Lane Powell’s support, which were instrumental in obtaining funding for the Scholarships. The 12 Lee Nusich Scholarship recipients are: Afua Serwaa Biney, business administration; Dorcus Antwi, mathematics; Emmanuel Gyane, computer science; Esther Nipaa Osei, management information systems; Francis Asante, computer science; Henry Nii Odartney, computer science; Jennifer Akoto-Bamfo, home science; John Adjei Benson, business administration; Patrick Abu, commerce; Samuel Kwadwo Obeng, computer science; Selase Attah Kwamuar, computer science and Stephen Gaun, information technology.
The Lee Nusich Scholarship Fund will help students in Ghana attend Ghanaian Universities by providing monetary assistance with tuition, textbooks, and residential facility user fees. The scholarship is specifically for students considering business or science courses at the Senior Secondary School level, and business administration and computer science at the university level. The NAPE Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to providing an increase in educational opportunities to Ghanaians with scholarships to attend Ghanaian Universities and to obtain on-line degrees from Portland State University.
