Campbell Recognized for Pro Bono Work Helping Flood Victims
Last year, following some of the worst flooding in Washington state’s history, the federal government declared 12 Washington counties as disaster areas. In response, the Washington State Bar Association, Washington Young Lawyers Division and the Northwest Justice Project worked together to publicize the need for lawyers to volunteer their time and when many responded, the volunteers were matched with flood victims. Lane Powell Counsel to the Firm June Campbell was recognized in the December 2008 issue of Washington State Bar News for quickly stepping in to help those hurt by the tragedy. Thanks to volunteers like Campbell, homeowners affected by the flood received legal support for issues and questions in their insurance policies or mortgages, and helped tenants understand their rights and obligations when units became uninhabitable due to water or structural damage.
