McCarthy Gives Advice About Choosing an Attorney in the Portland Business Journal

Lane Powell Shareholder Steve McCarthy was quoted in the Portland Business Journal on Friday, March 28, in an article, “Choose a bankruptcy lawyer as carefully as an eye surgeon.” The article provided practical tips that should be considered when selecting a bankruptcy attorney.

“I’m still a big fan of picking up the phone and talking to people, and meeting with them in person,” McCarthy said. “I’m not aware of any lawyers who are unwilling to talk about themselves.”

He also said to consider a potential attorney’s experience, communication style, responsiveness and practice area.
