Calo Appointed to ABA Task Force to Look at Upjohn Warnings
Lane Powell Shareholder Bob Calo was appointed to an American Bar Association (“ABA”) Task Force to study Upjohn Warnings. Calo, who is Regional Co-Chair of the Northwest/Seattle Region ABA Criminal Justice Section White Collar Crime Committee, was appointed to the five-person task force by the National Chairperson of the White Collar Crime Committee. The task force will study whether any changes are needed to Upjohn Warnings, which are the set of statements or warnings given to an employee of the company before the company’s attorney interviews the employee as part of an internal investigation. The name derives from the Supreme Court decision in Upjohn Co. v. United States, 449 U.S. 383 (1981).
