Lane Powell Victorious in Wage and Hour Retaliation Case Receiving National Attention
In a case receiving attention from national legal commentators on wage and hour retaliation claims, Lane Powell Shareholder Mike Reilly obtained full dismissal of a whistleblower retaliation case against Lane Powell client, Master Builders Association (“MBA”).
Plaintiff Cecil Stewart was a director at MBA and complained that some employees had been denied overtime pay. He filed suit in federal court alleging violations of federal law. After discovery and extensive briefing, the court dismissed the case granting summary judgment in a published decision, Stewart v. Master Builders Assoc., 2010 WL 3505101 (W.D. Wash. Sept. 8, 2010).
