Horowitz Quoted in PSBJ Regarding Law Firm Growth Strategies

Bookmark and Share

In the August 27 edition of Puget Sound Business Journal (“PSBJ”), Lane Powell President Lewis Horowitz commented on how law firms can grow in a difficult economic environment.  “In the past, we might have had to share sponsorship with the competition,” said Horowitz.  “Now we can be the sole sponsor.  It’s allowed us to be the star for not much more than it used to cost us to just show up.”

The article also points out how Lane Powell is taking advantage of the economic difficulties by focusing on lateral hires in the areas of intellectual property, tax and white collar crime.  Said Horowitz, “It’s much harder to attract those laterals in an up economy.  We’ve made a number of superb lateral hires from firms … where the individual lawyer was doing well but those around (him or her) were not.”
